In another court appearance, former “Empire” actor, Jussie Smollett entered a plea of not guilty on Thursday, March 13, 2019 at Leighton Criminal Courthouse in Chicago, Illinois.
Smollett was initially charged with disorderly conduct on a class 4 felony of false report allegation and later indicted on 16 felony counts for allegedly lying about being the victim of a racist and homophobic attack because of his dissatisfaction with his salary on the Fox TV drama.
The actor and his attorneys deny that he had anything to do with the attack asides from being a victim. Smollett is out on $100,000 bail.
Since the assault, the singer and actor has only been on one interview with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts but has since then gone off the radar, making contact with the public only through his lawyers.
