Nigerian singer, Johnny Drille, has dished out his much anticipated debut album, ‘Before We Fall Asleep’.
The Mavin Records singer announced the release of the album through his Instagram page on Friday.
The body of work features musicians such as Styl-Plus, legendary R&B group; Don Jazzy, Ladipoe, Ayra Starr, Chylde, Lagos Community Choir, and Chillsoul.
Drille’s ‘Before We Fall Asleep’ focuses on issues relating to romantic relationships, socio-cultural and political issues.
The 14-track project features hits such as ‘My Kind of Brown’, ‘Loving is harder’, ‘Ludo’, ‘Ova’, ‘Odo’, ‘Driving in the Rain’, ‘Before I Let Go’, ‘In the light’, ‘Clocks’, ‘Lies(To Whom It May Concern)’, ‘Lost in the Rhythm’, ‘Sweet as a mother’s Love’, ‘Sister’, and ‘Sell my Soul’.
The musician had in August released a visual teaser for the project.
In 2013, Drille began his music career when he featured as a contestant on the sixth season of Project Fame West Africa. In 2015, he released a cover of ‘Awww’ by Dija, Nigerian singer.
He caught the attention of Don Jazzy, Mavin Records boss, and he signed with the foremost record label in 2017.
In 2019, he won the ‘Best Alternative Song’ at the 2019 edition of The Headies.
