BRITISH-Nigerian actor, John Boyega has advised Christians to avoid returning to churches that are not concerned about the current issues plaguing the world.

Since the death of George Floyd, a Black-American who died from police violence because of his colour, Boyega has been more vocal on racism and social injustice.

In a tweet that has gone viral, the Star Wars actor was perceived to be asking Christians to boycott any church that ignores the Black Lives Matter movement that was reignited following Floyd’s death.

While lamenting how prosperity preaching has successfully taken the place of real-life situations, Boyega added “We are the church. Yes we are.”

After leading a Black Lives Matter protest in London, Boyega is now seen as one of the leaders of anti-racist demonstrations.

During the protest, the popular role interpreter demanded equality for minorities and justice for Floyd.
