Joey Akan Is Not Taking It Easy With Haters Of Nigerian Music

Multi award-winning writer and music Journalist, Joey Akan, is this week’s guest on Ndani TV’s rant show, “Just Say It”. The writer is sick of the lack of support for Nigerian music as he rants about Nigerians who still boldly say they don’t listen to Nigerian songs.

Beginning his rant, Joey said; “I’m here to rant about all of you that say you don’t like Nigerian music. I don’t get it, because we make the best music in Africa and with the way it’s growing I don’t understand how you can sit somewhere and still say you don’t like it. Does it make you feel cool? Do you feel better? You don’t support these artistes but you go behind their backs and download it for free.”

“I think you don’t know where you come from and if that is the case then you don’t know where you’re going to. You lack pride in yourself if you don’t acknowledge your own thing. Speaking gibberish is not easy, support your own. Haven’t you noticed how people move from despair to extreme happiness when Nigerian music comes on? Isn’t that a good thing?”
