Following the denouncement of the Hollywood star, John Boyega as the global ambassador of Jo Malone London, in an interview with Scottish TV Presenter Lorraine Kelly, Jo Malone has slammed her former company, saying she is disgusted by their actions.
The 28-year-old star took his time to publicly announce to his fans on twitter that his decision was due to the fact that the company had edited the advert he had done for them. The video, in which he claimed was personal and was shot in his home city of London, was re-shot for the Chinese company. He was replaced by a Chinese star, Liu Haoran in the edited version.
However, this tweet left his fans in an uproar as they lay more blames on the original founder of the company, Jo Malone who on the other hand has nothing to do with the brand since she sold it to the Estee Lauder companies Inc in 2006.
While I understand that Jo Malone feels her pride has been dragged to the mud she got on her toes and strongly objects to the actions in a chat with Lorraine. “ Sincerely speaking , i am humiliated through their actions and it’s a very painful thing that my name has been mentioned. Everyone thinks I have an hand in it.” she said.
It is astounding that Jo Malone stood up to his defense. According to her, John had to find out about his replacement on social media. “All the time and energy he sacrificed to the company cannot be waved and so I stand to say he doesn’t deserve to be treated in such an ill manner.”
As it turns out, in an official statement, Jo Malone stated that the company made a mistake in the local execution of John Boyega’s campaign and therefore the re-edited version of the advert has been dropped down from the Chinese ad Campaign.
She added that the John Boyega’s work was tremendous as it was based on a true intuition, personal experiences and direction.
Meanwhile, she had promised that she would fight back to regain her reputation because a good name is better than gold silver or bronze.
