Nigerian actor Jide Kosoko has addressed the controversial sex-for-role in Nollywood.
According to a video making the rounds on the Social Media, the veteran actor revealed that some people came into the movie industry with the intention to sleep their way in.
He said, “If I said I need you to come and warm my bed so that I can give you this role, and you said, no, you don’t want to, they cannot force you to do it. If someone introduces something to you and you are not interested, say no.
“All these sex-for-role things, forget about it. I know some ladies that equally come into the industry with the determination that, by the time ‘I sleep with this and sleep with that, I will get my name’.”
Kosoko is one of Nigeria’s biggest and most celebrated actors, having worked in the industry for over four decades.
