Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez Announce Split

American Singer, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have officially released a joint statement confirming  their split, two years after announcing their engagement.

In a joint statement to NBC’s ‘TODAY’ on Thursday, the duo said despite their split, they will continue to work together and support each other.

They also thanked everyone for their kind words and support.

The statement read “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and project.

We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”

Reports had earlier emerged that the former couple had ended their relationship after news broke out of Alex Rodriguez’s scandal with “Southern Charm” star Madison LeCroy.

However, the duo dismissed the reports in a short statement at the time, explaining that they were working through some things.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez had met in 2017 and started dating. In March 2019, they announced their engagement.

They had also on two occasions postponed their wedding, citing the coronavirus pandemic as the cause.
