Iyanya reveals most reality TV show winners don't seek fame

Nigerian singer Iyanya shared his views on reality TV show winners, saying they struggle in the entertainment industry due to their lack of desire for fame.

During a recent interview with HipTV on July 19, 2023, he expressed that many winners don’t thrive because fame was not their primary goal; it merely happens to some who take their chances.

In his words, “Obviously, most people who win these reality shows don’t have any plans of being famous or anything. It just happened to them. Yeah, he has a nice voice, tried it and he won.”

According to Iyanya, reality TV show winners who embrace fame and the opportunities it brings tend to thrive.

He believes those who prayed for and desired the platform are the ones who go further in their careers.

Iyanya himself became a reality TV star in 2008, winning the first edition of Project Fame West Africa.

Initially, he had no intentions of seeking fame but continued to rise in stardom after winning.

He is best known for his hit song “Kukere,” which gained massive popularity in the Afrobeats scene in 2011.
