Jude Abaga, Nigerian rapper better known as MI, has hinted fans that he might be joining forces soon with songstress, Simisola “Simi” Ogunleye for music collaboration.
MI‘s intention came to light on Friday after a Twitter user urged the rapper to consider working with Simi on a “Love song,” pointing out that it was about time the two music stars produced a song.
“Please @MI_Abaga it’s time to work with Simi on a love song,” the user wrote.
The rapper acknowledged the fan’s request by retweeting the post. He mentioned Simi alongside a short caption: “it’s time.”
However, Simi was quick to approve the request. She retweeted Abaga’s post, stressing the need for the pair to make it a reality.
“I’m tired of twitter commitment Baba. We all play too much. Let’s do it do it fr fr,” she wrote.
Over the course of her career, Simi has shown her musical prowess owing to the versatility that saw her music span the R&B, Afropop, and soul genres. This was undoubtedly seen in her joint EP with Falz titled Chemistry released in 2016.
Simi recently made headlines recently following the release of the video for her latest single Duduke confirming her pregnancy.
She also recently turned 32 with Adekunle Gold, her husband, pouring her enough encomium to last a life time.
On the other hand, MI‘s sonorous voice and articulate manner of speaking commands attention in person and in songs, which is impressive.
MI and Simi are known for working through their feelings on nearly every song they have released. We can’t except less.
