
Renowned Nigerian gospel artiste and preacher Nathaniel Bassey has spoken fondly about the trumpet he received from his role model and ‘hero’, American trumpeter and gospel musician Phil Driscoll.
The ‘Hallelujah Challenge’ convener during a recent feature on CNN African voices unveiled the trumpet that he received from Phil Driscoll with a special note that states, “do not sell this one”.
Nathaniel Bassey mentioned that he is fascinated by the gift before going on to play the trumpet.

The gospel recording artiste and preacher has been dubbed one of the most influential trumpeters in Nigeria by pundits and several of his contemporaries.

Meanwhile, Phil Driscoll is a trumpeter, singer, composer, and producer. He performs in varying music genres and styles, which include rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and patriotic music, and is best known for his work in Christian music and his long-term Christian ministry.
