Indecent dressing is not an invitation for rape- Yul Edochie

Yul Edochie, Nollywood actor, has cautioned those attributing rape crimes in the country to indecent dressing.

His comment comes amid the ongoing protest over the rape and murder of Omozuwa, a student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN).

At about the same time, Barakat Bello, an 18-year-old student of the Institute of Agriculture, Research and Training, Ibadan, died in the same manner.

In a tweet shared via his Twitter page on Sunday, the 38-year-old movie star cum politician said indecent dressing should not be a yardstick for any woman to be raped or sexually harassed.

“I do not encourage indecent dressing. But no matter how indecently dressed she is, guy it’s not an invitation for rape,” Yul Edochie tweeted.

If you both agreed on pay as you go, you pay, she no wan give you, get ur money back through non-violent means. Do not touch her. There’s no excuse for rape.”

Just recently, Busola Dakolo also revealed that she would further pursue her rape allegations against Biodun Fatoyinbo, a senior pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).

“The police have concluded its investigation. And handed over its report to the Ministry of Justice in Abuja for onward prosecution of Biodun Fatoyinbo,” she said.

“What they didn’t know is that, before we even began, we prepared for a long haul battle that may take years because Nigeria’s legal system isn’t wired to help sexual abuse victims get justice.”
