First of its kind, popular British actor Idris Elba is set to star in an all-black movie. The Netflix‘s upcoming movie is titled “The Harder They Fall.” The western movie is centered around Nat love. Nat Love seeks revenge on the man (Elba) who killed his parents years ago, after he finds out that he had been released from prison.
The film is being produced by Jeymes Samuel as well as rapper Jay Z. Similarly, Jay Z will help write original music for the movie alongside Samuel. Moreover, they had previously worked together on The Great Gatsby.
Elba has had a busy 2019. Earlier this year he wrapped up the upcoming film “Concrete Cowboys.” He also tied the knot with Sabrina Dhowre in Morocco. A wedding that had Nigerian singer Davido in attendance.
Idris Elba is taking a break from Social Media
A few days ago, Elba disclosed that he is taking a break from social media because it makes him feel depressed. Although the actor is an active user of Twitter and Instagram, he says it is disturbing.
Elba told Fast Company Magazine: “I’ve been trying to wean myself off. I used to post a lot more, but it’s been putting me off lately. And Twitter’s just not how I want to receive my news. I read the news aggregated on my iPad but I can’t check it constantly. I’m proud of it, but it’s true because it makes me depressed.”
And when it come to finding his peace by choosing not to read disturbing news in the morning, he says he practices stillness.
“I’ll just sit in the dark, stare, and try not to do anything- just clear my mind and decompress. I pick up my phone and check my messages. Then I’ll get up, sit on the edge of the bed for a little bit, take the day in and take a shower,” he added.
