On this week’s episode of Ndani TV’s #37Questions, singer Waje, answers questions on everything; from motherhood to her forthcoming concert, “Red Velvet”. The artiste talks about the universality of music and how it has helped her cross borders and bridge gaps.
On the idea behind her forthcoming headline concert – “Red Velvet” – Waje shared; “I thought it was about time people see me in my own element. Most times when people see me it when they hire me for 30 minutes, I just wanted to bring people into my own world. It’s a visual and audio concert so you get to enjoy me in my fullest.”
Describing her friendship with long-time collaborator and friend, Omawumi, Waje said; “It’s very difficult to describe it in just 3 words but I’d say – quarrel, love, sisterhood. Family for me means love, togetherness and patience because they will disturb you.”
Speaking on what she has learnt from her daughter, the artiste shared; “As much as we older ones think that we have a lot of experience and try to shove it down their throats, they have a mind of their own and a voice too. You’d be shocked how helpful listening to them can be.”
