I made lemonade out of the lemon that life gave me -Belinda Effah

Multiple award winning actress, presenter and entrepreneur Belinda Effah in an interview with The Nation has revealed how she has made lemonade out of the Lemon life threw at her.

Effah’s life growing up

Born in Cross River State, Effah grew up in a big, loving family where they had animals as pets. She had her primary education at Hillside International Nursery & Primary School. Effah also attended Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Port Harcourt.

She furthered her studies at the University of Calabar, majoring in Genetics and Bio-Technology. However, She made great friends from the big schools she attended.

For Effah, life started out rosy and then took a downhill. Nevertheless, she has weathered the storm that has come to her life so far.

I have to pick up and make lemonade out of the lemon that life threw at me. I came into the industry on a sketchy basis, and kept on trying until everything happened for me,” she said.

The actress stated that the disciplinary nature of her dad was very helpful in shaping her career.

Effah’s Career

Effah made her first television debut in the 2005 TV series Shallow Waters. Afterwards, she took a break from the series to feature in the reality show Next Movie Star where she finished 5th.

Belinda Effah, further gave details on her achievements so far, a one time TV presenter for Sound City – a Nigerian Entertainment cable station where she left to start her own TV show. She mentioned her very recent and first movie production titled ‘Miracle’ which recently premiered as her biggest accolade right now.

The movie “Miracle” is her commitment to charity. “It’s an empowerment movie with the theme ‘I have a voice, my dreams are valid,’ she said.

Belinda Effah is currently taking this movie around campuses to empower students and let them know that they have a voice and that their dreams are valid.

Miracle” was premiered at the University of Lagos on the 11, November 2019. Hopefully, she intends to go on a nationwide campus tour.
