Canadian pop singer, Justin Bieber, has revealed that he has no plans of becoming a pastor.
He disclosed this on his social page while addressing rumours that he’s studying to become the newest pastor of Hillsong Church in the wake of Carl Lentz‘s November 2020 firing.
Lentz known for his friendship with the singer was fired from his position at the Christian mega-church for “moral failures”(cheating on his wife with designer Ranin Karim).
“I’M NOT STUDYING TO BE A MINISTER OR ANYTHING EVEN CLOSE TO THAT. HAVE NO DESIRE FOR THAT,” Bieber wrote on his Instagram stories. “BTW HILLSONG IS NOT MY CHURCH. FOR CLARITY I AM A PART OF CHURCHOME.”
“Church is not a place. We are the church,” he wrote in a separate Instagram Story. “We don’t need a building to connect with god. God is with us wherever we are.”

Justin Bieber, 26, and Pastor Lents had reportedly fallen out in 2018 after the singer got married.
It was gathered that Lentz played an important role in Justin’s religious journey, and helped him through his many ups and down. He even allowed the Canadian musician to move in with him and his family in New Jersey for a brief period of time.
The pastor also reportedly helped Justin through his relationship with Selena Gomez, 28; whom he dated on and off from 2010 to 2018.
When the longtime couple ended things for good, the Love Yourself singer moved on with Hailey, 23, and the pair bonded over their shared religious beliefs and support of Hillsong’s teachings. They eventually got married in September 2018.
Shortly after Lentz’s exit made headlines, Hailey unfollowed the religious leader on social media. Selena Gomez was said to have also parted ways with Hillsong following Lentz‘s infidelity scandal.
