Nigerian Rapper, Mohammed Adamu, also known Magnito has narrated his ordeal in the hands of the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Lagos.

The talented rapper in a recent interview with The Punch revealed that his encounter with SARS happened at Lekki Phase 1 in Lagos.

He said, “Yes, I was oppressed by men of SARS once in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. They ordered me to come out of the car I was in, and I was put in a white bus. However, they did not take me far away with them because I talked to them.”

“I asked them why they were taking a policeman’s son away? One of them listened to me and asked his colleagues to let me go because I did not do anything. They took my phone and checked it but found nothing incriminating on it. It was sad that they could just put me on a bus like that.”

Speaking why he joined the End SARS protest in 2020, Magnito said, “I was not the only one who spoke out. Other musicians and actors spoke about all that happened. It is my right as a Nigerian to speak out. The truth is bitter but we have to say it. Things are not easy for people in Nigeria.”

“The country is turning into a mess and the voice of the people, especially that of musicians, need to be heard. As musicians, we should also speak out through our music. I made a song and shot a video about the happenings, so I have played my part. People really liked the video because it got a lot of views on YouTube.”
