America singer, Jennifer Lopez, has revealed how she got her famed stage name “J.Lo.”
In a recent episode of NBC’s World of Dance, the 51-year-old singer whose singing career has spanned more than two decades revealed that Late rapper Heavy D, gave her the name J.Lo in the 90s.
“J.Lo came from Heavy D, she said during the episode. “Remember Heavy D, the rapper? He would come into the studio when I was making my first album, and he would always call me ‘Jenny Lo.”
According to her, the name further stuck while she was dating music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs; as people always referred to them in the studio as “Puffy and Jennifer Lo or Jenny Lo.”
“So I was like, ‘I’m gonna name the album J.Lo,” Jennifer Lopez added, referring to her 2001 hit album which featured hit songs like Love Don’t Cost a Thing.
The award-winning singer who released her last studio album in 2014; announced to her numerous fans last month that she’s working on a new project.
It’s summertime and we’re cookin’ up something muy caliente,” she wrote on Instagram alongside photos of herself inside a recording studio.
“I cannot wait for you to hear what we’ve been working on pa ti…” she added in another post.
