How I Got My Role in ‘Citation’ – Temi Otedola

Temi Otedola

Temi, daughter of Nigerian billionaire’s Femi Otedola has described her experience on how she made her way through, pushing harder to get her acting role in Kunle Afolayan‘s new movie Citation.

The pretty 23-year-old recently got cast to play a lead female character alongside other A-list actors of diverse nationalities.

She spoke while addressing journalists during a press conference to announce the cast of the film, Ms Otedola said: “I have been watching Mr. Afolayan’s films like forever. From ‘Figurine’ to ‘October 1’, ‘Phone Swap’. I was actually introduced to him, I told him that from university and through school I have always been into acting and that was my first passion in life.

But the process was not easy, I really had to push just for the fact that this role of Moremi was right for me, and I was willing to bring her to the screen, and do the role justice

The movie being her first feature film is a college drama about a female postgraduate student who has to find a way of dealing with the awkward situation of sexual harassment from a lecturer.

“And he told me about a script coming out and the lead character is actually a girl around my age and a university student and the story tells a tale of something that is so relatable and relevant to women in life, not only in Nigeria but all over the world.”

Speaking on why she kept her love for acting on the low key until now, she explained that it was all about timing and that when the opportunity came, she felt she would be able to pull it off.

Also starring in the film for the first time is Afolayan’s brother, Gabriel. Gabriel plays Temi’s love interest in the film.

Ms Otedola, a fashion and lifestyle blogger said she is not leaving fashion for acting but that acting has been her one true love even though both are very close to her heart.

Her social media pages are usually a sight to behold because of her properly curated fashionable displays.
