Hilda Baci, a Nigerian celebrity chef, has reignited the Ghana Jollof versus Nigerian Jollof war.
She declared Nigeria’s Jollof to be the best.
Hilda Baci stated on a podcast that she has tried Ghana Jollof and can confidently state that it is not as good as Nigerian Jollof. Ghana Jollof, according to the former Guinness World Record holder, lacks flavour.
“Nigerian jollof is actually better than Ghana Jollof. I have been to Ghana and I have eaten their jollof. I have done a competition with a Ghanaian chef that made his best Jollof and I have seen the recipe,” she said.
Hilda Baci went on to say that Ghana Jollof has no flavour, but “with Nigerian Jollof, Nigerians don’t play with flavour building.” The comments have reignited the Jollof war on social media, with Ghanaians mocking Hilda’s viewpoint.
A social media user said:
“Why are ppl confusing an ability to cook for long hours with an ability to cook good food? The two aren’t the same,”
Another added that “From a person who cooks a small pot of stew with 6 maggi…. Chaiiii Chef gbeee massa komot”.
The Nigerian chef was recently dethroned from her Guinness World Record title for the longest cooking marathon. The Guinness World Records (GWR) officially announced the new record holder, Alan Fisher.
