Academy Award-winning actress, Halle Berry; recently shared some of her experiences while preparing for her role in “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” ― and the intense training process she went through for the film.

In an interview over the weekend, Halle Berry told Extra how she had sustained injuries “rehearsing” for the film, revealing that she didn’t want to “disappoint” Keanu Reeves, who is the lead character in the sequel.

“I wanted to be on the same level with him, I didn’t want to disappoint him,” Berry said, commenting on how amazing working alongside Reeves was, though terrified at the notion of working with him at first because of how good she considers him to be.

“You know what, it’s like a badge of honor for me. I don’t know how it happened. Really, we don’t know,” she said, revealing that she broke “three ribs” while “rehearsing” for the film.

Berry had told The Hollywood Reporter earlier in the month that she had long been a fan of the action sequel, and that training for the film “was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my entire life.” The “X-Men” actress also shared praise for Director, Chad Stahelski, who she said supported her through her healing process during the filming of the flick.

“What made me most happy, is I thought when that happened, I thought, ‘OK, I’m out of the movie, they’re going to replace me,’ because you know the show has to go on,” she said, adding that production was pushed back as the crew waited for her to heal.

“When I came back I actually felt better,” Berry said.

“Not a chance was I going to give up on her,” Stahelski chimed in, adding that working with Berry was “pretty surreal.”

The first “John Wick” film premiered in 2014, and ‘Chapter 3’, is slated to hit theatres sometime in May 2019.
