Golden Globes 2021: Viola Davis is a Vision in Ankara!

American actress, Viola Davis, made a resounding fashion statement at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards from her home and the world couldn’t stop staring.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Davis, like many others made a virtual appearance at the awards; and shared images of their outfits.

The actress paid homage to Africa in a beautiful multi-coloured silk cotton African print gown; designed by Los Angeles-based designer ClaudeLavieKameni. She complemented the look with a thick braided necklace and earrings and clutch, designed by Pomellato and Gabo Guzo respectively.

Viola Davis‘ pride of being a Black woman echoes all the way. Although she was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom; but lost to Andra Day for her portrayal of “Billie Holiday” in The United States vs. Billie Holiday, that did not stop the 55-year-old actress from being heard.

Davis, who was the first female Black actor to receive an Oscar, an Emmy and a Tony, “is open to try anything, in particular strong prints, and usually ends up in bold simplicity, ideally with a comfortable shoe,” celebrity stylist Elizabeth Stewart, who has worked with Davis since 2009 told British Vogue.
