‘Glamour Girls’ Sequel to Premiere in Cinemas December 2021

After more than 25 years, the sequel to Glamour Girls will be premiered in cinemas across the country in December 2021.

Charles Okpaleke, the chief executive officer (CEO) and co-founder of Play Networks, took to his Instagram page on Wednesday to make the announcement accompanied by the flyer of the movie.

“A story that would involve 3 generations of actresses. I’m going all out on this one!,” he wrote.

The 1994 classic, originally directed by Chika Onukwufor, follows the story of a village girl whose desire for a better life got her to take a questionable job in Lagos.

It starred several Nollywood heavyweights including Liz Benson, Ngozi Ezeonu, Eucharia Anuobi, Pat Attah, Ernest Obi and Zack Orji among others.

The development comes a few months after Okpaleke had secured the copyrights for the remake of Glamour Girls and Rattle Snake under Play Network Africa, his production company.

Recall that Okpaleke acquired the rights for Living in Bondage, whose sequel- Living in Bondage: Breaking Free grossed over N140m within the first week of its release.

The blockbuster won seven awards including Best Overall Movie, at the 2020 edition of the African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
