GHOne TV, a popular Ghanaian TV station has broadcast hardcore porn on live TV causing shock among many viewers.
GHOne TV inadvertently aired the explicit content on Thursday night; during the station’s broadcast of relationship and sex talk show, DUVET.
It aired at about the same time President Akufo-Addo was addressing the nation on COVID-19 pandemic.
Few hours after providing users with something quite different, the Acting General Manager of the station, Nana Aba Anamoah issued an apology to Ghanaians for replacing DUVET with some minutes of adult entertainment.
The statement issued on Twitter reads:
“GHOne TV wishes to sincerely apologise to its cherished viewers on the unfortunate turn of events; regarding your favourite late-night programme, DUVET, a few hours ago. Even though the show is X-rated, we concede that the nature of the content tonight was inappropriate.
“Meanwhile, we took off tonight’s edition a few minutes into the show. The President’s 6th address on government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic aired fully.
“Whilst we promise that this incident will not repeat itself, we will also ensure to sanction the officers responsible for the mishap. Kindly accept our apology, with any inconvenience caused, deeply regretted. Thank you.’
However, we are sure this was a result of a mix-up, but that probably won’t save someone at the TV station from a suspension or termination.
