German Artistes Sue Rihanna Over Use of Song

Rihanna has been slapped with a lawsuit by a German father-daughter musical duo dubbed King Khan and Saba Lou who claimed she used one of their songs without permission.

According to TMZ, the duo alleged that Rihanna used a track of theirs titled Good Habits (and Bad); in an Instagram post promoting her Fenty fashion line. The Instagram ad racked up more than 3.4 million views, according to the lawsuit.

The duo claimed that the 32-year-old Barbadian singer did not seek their permission to use the track on the ad, theorizing that she just lifted the song from a music streaming platform.

King Khan and Saba Lou are demanding Rihanna stops using their song and are also seeking unspecified damages.

In October, the singer joined the fray of celebrities across the globe who used their platform to show solidarity towards police brutality in Nigeria. Reacting to the movement, she said it was unbearable to watch what Nigerians had to go through during the protests.

“I can’t bare to see this torture and brutalization that is continuing to affect nations across our planet!” she wrote on social media.

“It’s such a betrayal to the citizens, the very people put in place to protect are the ones we are most afraid of being murdered by!. My heart is broken for Nigeria man!! It is unbearable to watch! I’m so proud of your strength and not letting up on the fight for what’s right! #ENDSARS.”
