Nigerian vocalist, Simi and Afro-pop star, Burna Boy are among the biggest winners at the 2020 AFRIMMA awards.
AFRIMMA which is in its 7th year is a “sole award ceremony in the diaspora that caters to all musical genres including but not limited to Afrobeats, Assiko, Bongo, Decale, Funana, Genge, Highlife, Kwaito, Lingala and Soukous”.
Master KG emerged the biggest winner for the night, bagging four awards including Best Collaboration with Burna Boy on Jerusalema. Simi snagged the award for the Best Female Singer in West Africa while Rema won the award for the Best Male Singer in West Africa.
Burna Boy won the Crossing Boundaries With Music award.
Nigeria’s favourites; Flavour, Poco lee, Cuppy, TG Omori, Mercy Chinwo, and Umu Obiligbo all won their respective categories.
