Nigerian singer, Omah Lay‘s hit single Bad Influence, has emerged the number one song searched by Nigerian listeners on the Shazam App.
In the early hours of today, Apple music announced the top song and album of 2020, alongside a list of top Shazam songs.
Shazam launched its new playlist “Naija Risers” on Apple Music, this year featuring trending songs and latest artistes releases. The music recognition app that Apple purchased in 2018, has now surpassed 200 million monthly active users worldwide.
On the list of the top 10 songs Shazamed in 2020, Omah Lay sits comfortably on number one, seven; and nine with different songs from his debut EP Get Layd which was released in May.

Apple Music 2020 Top Charts
The top song of 2020 on Apple music is The Box by Roddy Ricch, with 13.7 million plays worldwide during its debut week alone. Blinding Lights by The Weeknd sits on number two, followed by Dance Monkey from Tones And I and ROCKSTAR by DaBaby.
The top album is Roddy Ricch‘s Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial. The second most streamed album is Lil Baby‘s My Turn.
Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon by the late Pop Smoke took the third spot, Lil Uzi Vert‘s LUV vs. World 2 sits on number four while Summer Walker‘s album Over It is the number five top album of 2020.
Dance Monkey from Tones And I is the most Shazamed song of 2020, while WAP by Cardi B is the lyrics that was searched the most.
