Chernobyl, a movie by Craig Mazin, has garnered the most nominations for the British Academy Film Awards, better known as the BAFTAS.

The long-awaited nomination list was announced on June 6.

Chernobyl, an historical drama television miniseries about the nuclear power plant disaster in 1986, snagged the most nominations with 14, topping The Crown, a Netflix movie by Peter Morgan, which got 7 nominations.

This year’s BAFTA TV Awards is scheduled to hold on July 31, 2020, behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.

BAFTA-winning comedian Richard Ayoade will host the TV awards from a closed studio, with winners to give acceptance speeches virtually, while the craft awards will be hosted by Stephen Mangan, and broadcast on BBC One on July 31.
