Former 2018 BBNaija “Double Wahala” housemate, Oluwabamike Olawunmi, popularly known as BamBam, has found her passion in the movie industry as she features in a new Nollywood movie, “The Gift” opposite her longtime BBNaija lover, Teddy A.

In an exclusive interview with pulse.ng, Bambam reveals secrets surrounding her role in the new movie in which Teddy A takes on the character of her abusive lover.

Speaking on the level of her realness in the movie, she revealed that her part was never a struggle for her as she only had to think about her abusive childhood memories to let the tears drop in reality.

She went further to disclose how well she connects with the ongoing rape case of Busola Dakolo and the senior pastor of COZA.

“Trust me, the director usually gives me time to get back because I don’t fake tears. It’s not news that I have been abused before and during this rape case, I felt for Busola (Timi Dakolo’s wife) and I connected to her page. I just had to connect to a part of me that had experienced pain and every time I have to express that emotion, things are very tight. So everything you will see me do in the movie was very real. I have not been abused in the aspect of a child… I have actually, my maid molested me but it’s not as cheap as what this child went through”, she said.

Still on interpreting her role in the movie, BamBam had this to say: “I’ve never had a child before. So, but I just needed to hold on to a few memories here to express the emotions that were expected and it was very real, sometimes, I had to ask for time and with the camera on my face. So, you will see me look emotional.”

On joining the movie industry, BamBam clears the air on her passion; according to her, she had always loved acting and getting into the BBNaija show was just for the purpose of challenging herself.

“Well, I went to Royal Arts Academy and did three months but it wasn’t enough education for me as an actor. I’ve done a few small movies before the big brother house, the Royal Arts movies, Emem Isong, Uduak Isong, I’ve been in their movies but I was just like an okay actor. I like to challenge myself so I decided to do stage,” she said.
