Fireboy DML Drops Artsy Visuals for “Vibration”

YBNL breakout star Fireboy DML just dropped the incredibly artsy music video of one of his biggest hits, Vibration.

The YBNL singer released the video a couple of hours ago; months after the release of his debut album Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps.

Presumably, the release of this video is to renew the song in the consciousness of his audience. This tactic will definitely work.

The TG Omori-directed video juxtaposes classic Eurocentric dance aesthetic with the vibrant and carefree motions of Afropop culture.

You can see this theme every time Fireboy says “carry overload”; whilst sitting at a piano in a ballroom with ladies and gentlemen donning cocktail dresses and tuxedos.

Also, he plays more on this theme by having ballet dancers in white costumes; having powder paint stain their outfits as they jump up and down. This scene is somewhat reminiscent of the ballet/piano scene in Kanye West’s Runaway video.

Then coupled with the sexy and mysterious painted girl with the trumpet, this video hits all the right spots.

One of the better-received tracks on the LTG album, the video perfectly matches the energy of the song.

In addition to that, Fireboy DML convinces us that you don’t have to give up your foreign influences to be African and authentic.
