Filmmaker, Fidelis Duker, President Buhari & Others To Speak At TICAD7, Japan

The level of foreign recognition in the Nigerian entertainment industry has risen beyond African borders as continuous advancement is made in the field.
As pioneers in the music industry are recognized, the movie sector is not left out as veteran Nigerian filmmaker, Fidelis Duker, will be speaking at the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) in Yokohama Japan from August 29-30, 2019.

The conference in its 7th edition features the Calabar-born film maestro; President Muhammadu Buhari, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo Olu and Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, among other indigenous luminaries.
Duker, the organiser of the famous Abuja International Film Festival, will be speaking the Round table on cooperation in the field of cultural industries in Africa to be declared open by UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay.
He has earned the feat as a result of his notable contributions to Africa’s creative sector; he is one of the only two African film makers invited to speak at the event, with the other being Adoma Souma , Director General of FESPACO, Ouagadougou.

Duker, who was a former President of Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), was recently re-elected Regional Secretary General, Federation of Pan African Filmmakers (FEPACI), West Africa.
The highly travelled culture ambassador, who founded FAD (93.1FM)Radio in Calabar, Cross River state and FAD 360 TV, has been involved in the entertainment and culture industry for over 25 years with over 80 films and TV programmes  including short films and documentaries to his name.
Some of Duker’s achievements in the industry includes being the continental President of Africa Festival Network at a time, serving as a board member of Arterial network, and currently serving as consultant on film and the creative sector to Ethiopia, Madagascar and Botswana.
He has been speaking and presenting papers on film and creative industry in over 45 different countries.
