Nigerian and foreign celebrities, including Beyonce, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj; have come together to condemn the shooting of youths at a peaceful protest by security agents at the Lekki Toll Plaza on Tuesday night.
Several people that were at the protest are feared dead and others injured after men in military uniforms opened fire. The governor of Lagos State visited the victims in the hospitals where they are currently receiving treatment.
The government had denied any wrongdoing and claims there were no deaths. The army also claims they had no hand in killing youths at the protest. However, there is damning video evidence from several Instagram live videos that refute those claims.
Following the massacre, the government has extended the state-wide curfew by three days thereby halting the protest.
