Emma Stone will be back on Cruella.
The 32-year old actress has signed another deal with Disney for a sequel of the show. Cruella debuted on Disney+ on May 28, 2021 and amassed over $221 million at the worldwide box office.
Deadline first reported the news.
The movie told the story of Estella, a young and talented grifter ready to make a name for herself in the fashion world.
After meeting a pair of thieves, Estella and her new friends build a life on the streets of London. She soon embraces her wicked side to become a revenge-bent Cruella.
The Film also stars Emma Thompson amongst others. It will see the return of the original director and screenwriter, Craig Gillespie and Tony McNamara respectively.
PEOPLE also confirmed the sequel is in development back in June.
“We are [very] pleased with Cruella’s box office success, in conjunction with its strong Disney+ Premier Access performance to date,” A Disney spokesperson informed PEOPLE.
“The film has been [incredibly] well received by audiences around the world, with a 97% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes. We look forward to a long run as audiences continue to enjoy this fantastic film.”
Gillespie also hinted that the villainess’ story is not over and must be told.
