Eminem Apologises to Rihanna in ‘Zeus’

American rap star, Eminem, has offered a whole hearted apology to Rihanna on Zeus, a new track from his newly released deluxe version of Music to be Murdered By.

The rapper is apologising for taking sides with Chris Brown who pleaded guilty and received five years of probation and a community service order for assaulting Rihanna in 2009. The estranged lovers, were on their way to the Grammy Awards ceremony when the incident happened.

In a decade-old song, which wasn’t released but leaked in 2019, Eminem; had said “of course I side with Chris Brown.”

However, on Zeus, Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, tendered his apology.

“But, me, long as I re-promise to be honest / And wholeheartedly, apologies, Rihanna. For that song that leaked, I’m sorry, Ri / It wasn’t meant to cause you grief / Regardless, it was wrong of me,” he raps.

In the early hours of Friday, Eminem released Music to Be Murdered By – Side B, a follow-up to Music to Be Murdered By; which was released in January. It features Dr Dre, Ty Dolla $ign and Skylar Gray among others.

Eminem and Rihanna Collaborate

Despite causing Rihanna grief, Eminem‘s spokesman Dennis Dennehy insisted that the duo have a great relationship.

‘This is a leak of something that’s over 10 years old. After Eminem recorded it, he scrapped it, and rewrote it. Obviously he and Rihanna have a great relationship,” he said.

Eminem and Rihanna dropped their first collaboration, Love The Way You Lie; in 2010 which has since been certified diamond.

He also featured on Rihanna‘s song Numb from her 2012 album Unapologetic; while their mammoth 2013 single Monster went on to win a Grammy award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

In August 2014, they co-headlined ‘The Monster Tour, a joint mini-tour of the US comprising of six dates which became one of the highest-grossing tours of 2014 in North America.
