Veteran rapper and singer Eedris Abdulkareem has ignited fresh controversy with a new video detailing an alleged attempt to bribe him over his viral song “Tell Your Papa”.
The song, which was recently banned by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) for violating broadcasting standards sparked widespread debate and criticism, with Eedris using the platform to express his discontent with President Bola Tinubu’s government.
Recall that Verydarkman earlier today, reacted to the ban and vowed to shoot the video of the song saying:
“Dear, Eedris Abdulkareem, we are going to shoot another video. This time, we will sponsor it. I will be in the video. We will also look for Tinubu’s lookalike since we can’t get the President to be in the video. We will remake the video, ‘Tell Your Papa 2.’ Then, we will also highlight other problems.
“That [the ban] is to say, this people listen to what is going on in Nigeria but they don’t want to act. Then when you talk, they want to control the media so that you don’t have a voice and this voice doesn’t exceed what they can control.”
In the video he captioned That’s what’s up! No Retreat, No Surrender!!! Aluta Continua….”, Eedris claims that an individual, who identified himself as an honourable member, contacted him with an offer of N200 million in a bid to compromise him. However, the singer asserts that he rejected the offer, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his art and his message.
Eedris, in his video, vowed to stand his ground and not be silenced despite the ban on his song, emphasizing his determination to continue expressing himself through his music.
