Canadian rapper Drake is a multi-award-winning celebrity that has a lot of fans. But apparently, Drake was not among fans when he performed at Tyler the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw carnival because the audience booed him off the stage.
Yes, you read that right. The 33-year-old rapper was booed off the stage when he came to perform as Tyler’s surprise guest. This is probably the first time ever that fans have not been excited to see Drake.
Here’s what happened…
This past weekend, Tyler, The Creator brought his Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival to Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. As always, the show included a lineup of huge stars, including Tyler, Solange, YG, Earl Sweatshirt, DaBaby, 21 Savage, FKA twigs, Juice WRLD, and Yasiin Bey.
But when Tyler announced the lineup, the poster featured a set of question marks to indicate a surprise-guest headliner. The crowd expected Frank Ocean. They got Drake. They were not happy.
This was like 15 mins after Drake walked off and everybody realized Frank wasn’t coming, listen to this man scream 😭 pic.twitter.com/79NOgt8at7

When Drake got on stage and started performing, the audience booed him and echoed, “We want Frank! We want Frank!” Drake performed anyway as the booing got louder.
With plenty of time left on his set, Drake addressed them: “I’m here for you tonight. If you want to keep going, I will keep going tonight. What’s up? If you want to keep going, I will keep going tonight.”
Disappointingly, the fans screamed “Nooooooooooo”. Drake said, “Well, look. It’s been love. I love y’all. I go by the name of Drake. Thank you for having me.” And then he walked offstage. That was the end of the festival.

That was quite a disappointing turn of events for Drake. It’s almost as though fans don’t realize that celebrities are human with feelings and are equally worthy of compassion.
Drake reintroduced himself and thanked them for having him and the act seemed pretty reminiscent, probably of days when no one knew his name and probably booed him off the stage.
Drake took to Instagram later that night to make a light joke about the awkward incident.
We’re glad Drake has a sense of humor about getting booed off stage and is still living it up whenever he gets the chance.
