Controversial Nollywood actress, Lizzy Anjorin, recently warned her fans and followers to desist from begging her for money. Anjorin did not stop there, she went on to desperately plead with them to bring business offers to her, instead of begging, an act that will give them a “reward of cash price in 5 or 6 digits.”
The entrepreneur wrote: “Please I beg you in the name of Allah, don’t be bold enough to come to my office to beg for money. Don’t DM for money.. Don’t come to my page for money. If you really want me to grow, just bring me customers that will bring market and you will be rewarded with cash price in 5 or 6 digit.”
In her caption, Anjorin explained that she isn’t a stingy person, adding that she only considers the “less priviledged”.
“please respect my opinion am not a stingy person I do my charity for less privileged , whom my mind picks or generally on social media.
“If I get those money easy, of course I can do any how…but you will never understand how real money is made until you get there one day,” Lizzy Anjorin wrote in parts.
However, numerous Nigerian celebrities have posted messages and videos on their genuine social media accounts warning fans about begging them for money.
Recently, Paul Okoye of the defunct group, PSquare revealed that an online beggar specifically requested for $2M to start a business from him.
Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus once wrote: “
“So I started asking them to learn a trade, use their talent, get mentors, learn from YouTube. If these people have enough data to come and ask for money on social media then they would definitely have enough to learn something from YouTube or other free webinars. The moment I start to ask them to learn something I become an enemy. Then I get messages like “if you don’t want to help me just say it. We, your fans have made you into a star but you can’t help us with your money”. It used to upset me but then I had to understand that the heart of a hungry person can lead to verbal diarrhea.”
Apparently, online begging is already taking a toll on Nigerian celebrities and more celebrities are coming out to share their experiences and to also advice their fans and followers to desist from such disturbing acts.
