While we are waiting for Game of Thrones and other Marvel movies, Disney has promised us a host of amazing movies to be released in the course of this year.
Everything Entertainment Live put together the list of all the Disney movies to keep us entertained all through 2019.
- “Dumbo”
Release date: March 29
Synopsis: This live action remake of the 1941 animated movie, “Dumbo” follows the story of a young elephant Jumbo Jr who gets made fun of because of his oversized ears and is nicknamed Dumbo.
- “Penguins”
Release date: April 17
Synopsis: This Disneynature movie, we follow a penguin named Steve who moves around the Antarctic searching for a partner to start a family.
- “Aladdin”
Release date: May 24
Synopsis: This live action remake of the classic Disney animation tells the story of Aladdin, a poor teenager who falls in love with Jasmine, the princess of Agrabah. His luck changes when he gets three magical wishes granted to him by a genie in a magic lamp.
- “Toy Story 4”
Release date: June 21
Synopsis: Disney and Pixar comes together to make the fourth “Toy Story” franchise. We will see Woody and the other toys welcome new friends to their owner’s room. Among these new friends, is a fork that insists he is not a toy?
- “The Lion King”
Release date: July 19
Synopsis: Do we have to tell you what “The Lion King” was about? Simba is seen battling with the decision to return home and take his place as king when his uncle, Scar’s leadership threatens to tear the pride lands apart.
- “Artemis Fowl”
Release date: August 9
Synopsis: This movie is an adaptation of the Eoin Colfer novels which narrates the story of 12 year old genius Artemis Fowl who comes from a family of criminal gurus.
- “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil”
Release date: October 18
Synopsis: According to the synopsis released by Disney last year, this sequel will ” explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen, as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.”
Michelle Pfeiffer and Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple and Ellie Fanning join the sequel.
- “Frozen 2”
Release date: November 22
Synopsis: There is no official synopsis yet for the movie but Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad will return in a reprisal of their roles.
- “Star Wars: Episode IX”
Release date: December 20
Synopsis: No official synopsis from Disney and Lucasfilm yet but we know there will be a continuation of the Skywalker story.
