One of the most-viewed reality TV shows on the MTV network, “Making The Band” is set to stage a big comeback in year 2020. The series which is hosted by rap icon and business mogul, Sean “Diddy” Combs is aimed at creating bands from a diverse mix of young and talented people.
After 10 years of silence from the show’s creators, the reality series is set to resume airing in 2020.
Sean “Diddy” Combs announced the return of the series via his Instagram yesterday.
He wrote: “With ‘Making the Band,’ myself and MTV, we created something special. We empowered young talent from all over the world,” he said. “No matter what hood they was from or what background they was from, everybody got a chance…I loved it. It was, an be recall like, one of the happiest times in my life.”
“Making the Band” is set to return to TV in 2020”, he announced.
The series is a programme that led to the creation and immortalization of bands like Danity Kane, Day26, Da Band and Donnie Klang.
The show was first aired on ABC in 2000 when American record producer and Manager of popular boy bands, Lou Pearlman went all out to search for the next popular all-male group. This led to the formation of the band, “O-Town”.
Diddy administered three seasons of the series before it finally shut down in 2009.
Entries for “Making The Band” has however started; “Video submissions are now being accepted on social media with the hashtag, #MTBCasting,” announced Diddy.
