P Diddy, an American rapper, reached an agreement with his ex-girlfriend Cassie on the rape and assault charges brought against him.
The two reached an amicable settlement less than 24 hours after the $30 million bombshell suit was filed. Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, made the announcement in a statement to the New York Times on Friday evening.
“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support,” she said.
Diddy, real name Sean Combs, also issued a statement to the news outlet announcing their decision to settle their case out of court. The rapper then wished her well.
His statement read, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”
In the suit, Cassie accused rapper Diddy of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse during their decade-long relationship.
She alleged being forced into sexual encounters with male prostitutes while Diddy watched, masturbated, and recorded videos.
Diddy denied the claims through his attorney, calling it a cash-grab.
Despite the denial, Diddy has reportedly chosen to pay Cassie the $30 million she demanded for damages.
