Big Brother Naija 2019 housemate Diane Russet has released a short film titled Bayi. The reality star is unrelenting in her quest to become a force in Nollywood.
Bayi features Mariam Kayode, Tope Olowoniyan, Daniel Atteh, Lynn Muia, and former BBNaija housemate Sir Dee, among others.
This will be Sir Dee’s second time appearing on screen; as he starred in the recently released romantic comedy Dear Affy alongside singer Teni Apata.
The short film also features Diane, a Kaduna native, as she tells the story of the challenges these women face; ranging from child marriage to marital rape and vesicovaginal fistula (VVF).
Diane Russet herself is the writer of Bayi, while Micheal ‘Amapsalmist’ Akinrogunde and Ayomide Newo are the director and producer respectively.
Although the plot is reminiscent of Stephanie Linus’ 2014 tragedy Dry, it is a story that cannot be told enough; not until the issue ceases to exist. This is one film you should be on the lookout for.

Russet, who just turned 24, already seems to be on the path to doing great things. Last year, she starred alongside singer Iyanya in a movie she wrote and produced titled The Therapist.
We will be here to keep you up to date with her progress. Congratulations Diane!
