Nigerian musician, Dapo Oyebanjo popularly known as D’banj has found his way back to God. He revealed this at a Christian concert that took place in Abuja. Oyebanjo also explained how God restored him after the loss of his first child.

The Koko Master, as he is fondly called, said that he had always acknowledged God through his music. He reflects back on the lyrics to some of his past songs like ‘Olorun Maje‘ and ‘Mobolowowan‘.

In a video shared online, he said, “when I said Jesus is the conqueror I meant it. If anybody knows my story then they know that for every one of my albums, I always give honour to whom honour is due. So when I say Olorun maje to Mobolowo wan. I always know the source of where I stand today.”

And to crown it up… you might not know me but a couple of years ago, about three years ago, I lost my first son but it’s okay because the Lord restored me,” Oyebanjo said on the altar.

Popular Nigerian pastor, Jerry Eze also posted a puncture of the Fall in Love singer along with his wife on Instagram. He captioned the picture, “Nice seeing you. What a heart for Jesus. @iambangalee. Glad we will be seeing more of you.” Oyebanjo equally shared a picture with the pastor on his page.

In related news, Nigerian’s music sensation, Chidirim Ekile also recently professed finding God again. She announced on her rebranded Instagram page that she no longer does secular music. Ekile now refers to herself as a music minister who does only gospel music now.

D’banj lost a son

Oyebanjo tragically lost his son in a home accident three years ago. The news shook the entire music industry and his fans mourned his loss with him. He is married to 30-year-old Lineo Didi Kilgrow

The music star started out as a duo act with music producer and record label owner, Don Jazzy. They both split in 2012 and Oyebanjo left the record label they had at the time, Mo Hits. Now both chartering different paths, Don Jazzy now had his own Mavins records.

Oyebanjo on the other hand was signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music record label before going on to start his own DB Records.
