Nigerian music star, Oladapo Oyebanjo popularly known as D’banj, has showered encomium on his mother, who turned 67, on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.
In a post on his Instagram page, he described his mum as his backbone, as he expressed gratitude to her for raising a good man that he is.
“Who sat and watched my Infant Head. When Sleeping on my Cradle Bed———My Mother, My Chairman , my Partner , my Backbone . You have been Nothing but the best Mom any child could Wish and pray for . Your Guidance and Endless love surprises me Everytime and Everyday . I love you so much and thanks again for Bringing me Into this World and For Raising Me so Well and to teach me the Real Virtues of life . Happy Birthday Mummy . I love you Mummy Show The Real D’banj,” the singer captioned the shared picture of his mum.
D’banj who earlier this month celebrated his 4th wedding, was recently the subject of heated controversy on social media, after one Seyitan Babatayo, alleged he raped her in 2018.
Amid the rape allegation, the music star also caused another stir after he flouted social distancing directive, as he graced a party in Abuja to perform.
In a video that went viral on social media, D’banj was seen singing in a crowded house while occasionally shaking hands, embracing others; and striking poses with both fans and admirers, without wearing a face mask.
His performance however led to a backlash from Nigerians; who opined that the Oliver Twist crooner was more concerned about partying than clearing himself of the rape allegation.
