DMW Honcho, Davido, might have moved on to greater things but his last seems to still be as great as his present.
Davido’s 2017 hit single, “Fall”, recently made it to American online magazine, Pitchfork’s list of “200 Songs Of The Last 10 Years.
The magazine, with the help of various music journalists, made a list of what they think are the best 200 songs of the last 10 years, precisely from 2009 to 2019, putting Davido’s “Fall” at number 163.
The song reportedly earned the position with its “soft Melody” and “Davido’s tricky charisma.”
According to Pitchfork, “Fall” was instrumental in continuing to widen the influence of Nigeria’s music on Western culture, becoming an international anthem along the way.
Pitchfork was launched in 1995 by Ryan Schreiber, based in Chicago, Illinois, and owned by Condé Nast.
Having been developed during Schreiber’s tenure in a record store at the time, the magazine boasts of a high reputation for its extensive focus on independent music, but has since expanded to a variety of coverage on both indie and popular music.
