Davido’s “A Good Time” Breaks Records

Davido's A Good Time

Davido’s new album “A Good Time“, which he released two days ago, has already broken records. According to reports, the album hit a staggering number of 87 million streams under 24 hours!

So far, the album has broken into the charts of 38 countries according to Apple Music. Hours after the release, the screens of Time Squares, New York carried his album cover. Production across the album comes from the likes of Kiddominant, Shizzi, London On Da Track, Speroach Beatz, P2J and more.

Davido talked about the album saying, “It’s been a long 7 years. A lot has transpired in my life since my debut album “Genesis”. And I, David Adeleke (aka Davido) have gone through a process of immense changes and growth.”

“In sad times, I lost close family and friends (RIP) and in my happiest times, I’ve created lives (Imade, Hailey & David Jr). I fell in love and got engaged to my PHENOMENAL fiancé, Chioma. I’ve fought battles of all kinds and on all fronts: spiritual, physical, mental, emotional even political.”

“A Good Time reflects on the ability to trust the timing of your life, enjoying the best moments & persevering through the worst ones. There’s no time like the present and it’s A Good Time to be alive, to be a PROUD AFRICAN and to fight for the freedom of one another – in unity,” Davido continues.

A Good Time shows off Davido’s signature sound (Afrobeats, Afropop and tinges of high-life). However, the album does not stray too far from his well-known style. From uptempo tracks like “Risky” to mid-tempo tracks such as “Sweet in the Middle”, the album strikes a good balance between both.
