One of the biggest music sensations of our time, Davido is steadily breaking barriers both locally and internationally. As a part of his efforts to push for some global accolade, he recently was a guest at Sirius/XM, one of the biggest radio stations in New York City.
The “Fall” singer who is in the US to promote his music, shared video clips of his interview at Sirius/XM Radio on his Instagram story. During the interview, he spoke of everything from his music to family and his love life.
When asked about how he felt about crossing over to mainstream radio, he shared that it was a very exciting feeling. Adding that he had initially tried to cross over to mainstream radio but his efforts had been all for naught but when he had seized his efforts; he started to experience some breakthrough into the international music scene. He acknowledged that his audience at his concerts in foreign countries had now expanded to include foreign listeners.
On his ability to bring awareness to Nigeria leveraging his international attention, he noted that people across the world know about Nigeria but if there is anything positive happening in Nigeria, he will surely have something to do with it.
On his love life, Davido responded to the question on whether he was engaged or not saying that he was not, adding that he has been in a relationship for five years. He went on to say that his lover understands how demanding the music business is and because of that, she is not in a hurry to get engaged to be married.
Speaking on how his children handle his celebrity status, the proud daddy noted that his kids handled it quite maturely and probably don’t really understand how big of an act he is.
