Music Superstar, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has announced the postponement of his maiden Are We African Yet (A.W.A.Y) music festival.
This was contained in a statement issued by his management team on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the music festival will now hold on November 18, 2023.
The statement read “We have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone a.w.ay festival until saturday, November 18,2023.
“It is necessary for Davido to spend time with his family and loved ones at this time.
“To all ticket buyers, your tickets will be honored for the 2023 date.
“Thank you for understanding and we look forward to seeing you all in the near future”.
This development comes days after the musician lost his son, Ifeanyi.
Davido had earlier the 18th of this month as the commencement of his maiden music festival.
The musician said the essence of the festival is to promote the collaboration between African culture and the world.
He wrote “I’m inviting you to come away with me to the maiden edition of A.W.A.Y Festival, a one-day music festival and cultural experience. A.W.A.Y Festival will promote and foster cultural exportation and collaboration between Africa and the world and there is no time like now.
“I can’t wait to have some of my friends from back home share the stage with my friends Stateside as we promote the culture! Tickets go on sale on the 23rd of Sept.”
