Nigerian media personality Denrele Edun has revealed the one time he dated a man and how it was the biggest mistake of his life.
The 40-year-old was speaking about his relationship struggles during a chat with Chude Jideonwo, TV presenter. Denrele said, “I have not been in too many relationships which is why I am always very skeptical about getting into them.”
The queer icon had made the decision to switch to the other side after he ran out of luck with all the girls he dated. “So one day I said to myself, maybe the girls do not have anything to offer me and then I had quite a bit of male attention, so I said let me just give somebody a chance. That was the worse decision of my life,” he said.
Denrele went on to describe the relationship as “the most draining thing” he had ever done in his life. He explained, “I met the most disrespectful, most disregarding, the temper I had not seen. I tried to quell it. I said Okay so God, maybe you sent this man into my life because you wanted me to change this person, maybe you wanted me to fix it.”
But ultimately, Denrele decided the man he was dating was not worth it. “I got my reality check. Everybody kept warning this person’s energy was toxic. I even went overboard.”
From then on, Denrele decided that he was better off alone. “Then, I decided I’m my sugar daddy,” he said. “I have a strong masculine side designed to take care of my feminine side. I’m dating myself. The person I now decide to experiment with, it was the most draining thing. I said I was never going to be caught in that again.
