American hip-hop artist, DaBaby, is under fire for making homophobic comments on the rolling loud stage on July 25, 2021.
The rapper has received backlash online after going on an explicit rant on HIV/AIDs and “sucking d-ck.” During the hip-hop star’s set at the Miami concert, he said: “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two, three weeks, then put your cellphone light up.
“Ladies, if your p***y smell like water, put a cellphone light them up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d**k in the parking lot put your cellphone light up. Keep it real.”

The 29-year old rapper has since been under fire for spreading wrong information about HIV/AIDs as well as stigmatizing the illness. In the video footage, which has gone viral on social media, the ‘BOP’ crooner seemed to make very specific statements about homosexual men.
According to Rolling stone, the rapper did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone’s request for comment.
DaBaby has since received criticism from his fans, celebrities and brands for his insensitive statements. Singer Dua Lipa who had worked with the rapper on her hit single, ‘Levitating’, took to instagram to express her disapproval of DaBaby’s statements.
She said, “I’m surprised and horrified at DaBaby’s comments. I really don’t recognize this as the person I worked with. I know my fans know where my heart lies and that I stand 100% with the LGBTQ community. We need to come together to fight the stigma and ignorance around HIV/AIDS.”

The rapper has since “apologized” for his statements via Twitter, saying;
“Anybody who done ever been effected by AIDS/HIV y’all got the right to be upset, what I said was insensitive even though I have no intentions on offending anybody. So my apologies.
But the LGBT community… I ain’t trippin on y’all, do you. y’all business is y’all business.”
