Popular comedian, Atunyota Akpobome, better known as Ali Baba, has narrated how he discovered he was positive to COVID-19.
Eelive.ng had reported that Ali Baba recovered from COVID-19, as he slammed those doubting the second wave of the infectious disease.
In a live interview on TVC News, the humour merchant revealed that he started experiencing COVID-19 by coughing.
“It started with a very short cough, and I gradually started feeling unease. I thought I had sore throat, so I was taking some things for it.
“But after a while, I started having a feverish feeling. Although, I have been on the road, travelling for a while; I was very cautious -I wear hand gloves, observe social distancing, I wear my face masks, and I sanitise my hands often.
“So, it didn’t cross my mind. I started feeling inconvenient when my breathe started slowing down,” he said.
Speaking further, Ali Baba revealed that what gave him a clue was his breathe that felt attacked.
“The breathing was what really gave me the clue, and I called a doctor and asked if I could take some tests. He asked me when I returned from Dubai, and he agreed to coming and taking the tests. Two hours after, he came back to tell me I was positive. He said I have COVID,” he stated.
When asked about the steps made when he knew he was positive to the virus, he added: “Immediately, I asked about what I could do, and he was like he would monitor me, and we started doing contact tracing. While all that was going on, I was like I would go to the isolation centre because I wasn’t feeling too good.
“I went to the isolation centre, and the doctor said he would have to get me a room. I asked why… and he said my oxygen was below 90. I argued that I was breathing good, but believe me, in less than three hours, I had gone down several bottles of oxygens. It was at that moment, I saw the difference between 90 and 99 xpo2.”
