Chairman of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), Tony Okoroji, has expressed sadness at the death of reggae icon, Majek Fashek; grieved by the fact that the Rainmaker will not get the burial he deserves due to the coronavirus pandemic restrictions.

The Send Down the Rain singer died in a New York hospital on Monday after years of illness and drug addiction.

The former PMAN president said while he takes solace in the fact that the late singer is free from pains and sickness, it is double whammy that he died in the US during the coronavirus pandemic.

“It is sad he died in the US and during this pandemic. Imagine the great Majek buried in America in this era of social distancing when people can’t gather together,” Okoroji said.

He, however, prayed for the repose of Majek’s soul and that God should be with his family.

Okoroji said as an association, COSON will get across to the deceased’s family, especially his son, Randy, for more details.
